Evaluation partnered with, by, and for communities

Our Approach

Community-partnered research & evaluation data co-ownership

Our team is committed to strengthening youth sexual and reproductive health services in BC, in partnership with youth, service providers, and community partners. Through practices of relational community partnered research, reciprocity and interconnected knowledge mobilization, the UBC Sexual Health Evaluation Team and Options for Sexual Health are working with local youth organizations and partners across BC to learn from youth and providers on how to strengthen youth sexual health services within communities, with particular focus on smaller urban centres, and rural and remote communities.

Findings generated from consultations and expert interviews will be shared in a summary report and recommendations to Options for Sexual Health leadership and BC Ministry of Health to advocate for strengthened, youth-centred sexual health in BC.

Evaluation reports will be locally available for Options for Sexual Health and local youth partner organizations co-leading the work to use for their own advocacy and design / strengthening of youth sexual and reproductive health services within communities.

** All interviews with youth and providers will be confidential and anonymous, and evaluation data will be de-identified (stripped of any identifying information) and provided in aggregate form, to protect anonymity of individuals within communities.
